
Background
I have worked in the Financial Services industry for past 29 years. I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Redlands. I earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the CFP Board of Standards, Inc. in June of 1985. I have been helping individual and business clients with their financial and tax planning affairs long before its current popularity to be labeled a “financial planner”.
I have an excellent knowledge of the major accounting software in the market today, including:
- Sage’s MAS 90 (which I have been using and consulting on since 1985)
- Business Works
- Peachtree accounting
- Intuit’s QuickBooks.
I have set up accounting software systems for a variety of businesses including construction, manufacturing, retail, agriculture and the services industries.
I established W.C. BUCKINGHAM, CPA, CFP in January 1994 in the San Luis Obispo area, after I was licensed by the state of California as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in August of 1993. I earned my accounting and auditing experience while working at Syme & Fletke, CPA’s. Working under the direction of the firms audit partner, C. Terrance Fletke, who also served as a member and special consultant to the California State Board of Accountancy.
